Radiation From Fukushima Disaster Reaches Oregon Coast (nypost.com)

Radiation from Japan's 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster has apparently traveled across the Pacific

Researchers reported that radioactive matter -- in the form of an isotope known as cesium-134 -- was collected in seawater samples from Tillamook Bay and Gold Beach in Oregon.
The levels were extremely low, however, and don't pose a threat to humans or the environment.
In 2011, a 9.0-magnitude earthquake triggered a wave of tsunamis that caused colossal damage to Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
The disaster released several radioactive isotopes -- including the dangerous fission products of cesium-137 and iodine-131 -- that contaminated the air and water.
The ocean was later contaminated by the radiation. But cesium-134 is the fingerprint of Fukushima due to its short half-life of two years, meaning the level is cut in half every two years.
Cesium-137 has a 30-year half-life. Particles from Chernobyl, nuclear weapons tests, and discharge from other nuclear power plants are still detectable -- in small, harmless amounts.
While this is the first time cesium-134 has been detected on US shores, Higley said "really tiny quantities" have previously been found in albacore tuna.
The Oregon samples were collected by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in January and February.
Each sample measured 0.3 becquerels, a unit of radioactivity, per cubic meter of cesium-134 -- significantly lower than the 50 million becquerels per cubic meter measured in Japan after the disaster.

Since the radioactivity has come to the west coast of America we can expect to see thyroid cancer and other types to start showing up in the surfing populations.

According to the Associated Press, "A new study says children living near the Fukushima nuclear meltdowns have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer at a rate 20 to 50 times that of children elsewhere, a difference the authors contend undermines the government's position that more cases have been discovered in the area only because of stringent monitoring.

Most of the 370,000 children in Fukushima prefecture (state) have been given ultrasound checkups since the March 2011 meltdowns at the tsunami-ravaged Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant.

The most recent statistics, released in August, show that thyroid cancer is suspected or confirmed in 137 of those children, a number that rose by 25 from a year earlier.

Elsewhere, the disease occurs in only about one or two of every million children per year by some estimates."

So how did the EPA react to the radioactivity showing up on American shores?

So what to do? If you're the United States Environment Protection Agency, there's only one option: Declare radiation to be safe!

28 Signs That The West Coast Is Being Absolutely Fried With Nuclear Radiation From Fukushima

If you live in California, or anywhere along the pacific coast of North America, you should be concerned.

Radiation levels 500% higher than normal are being found in coastal seaweed.

Los Angeles and Anaheim, high population centers, are receiving the highest amounts of radioactive fallout right now, over 1 year later. (research shows chronic exposure to low level radiation is more dangerous than acute exposure to high doses.)

Radioactive rain outs are expected to continue for some time on the pacific coast.

\

Radioactive debris is beginning to wash up on the pacific coast, and radioactive seawater will soon lap west coast shores.

Acceptable levels of radiation exposure have been raised, and measurement of airborne radiation has been stopped in the U.S. and Canada.

Scores of ring seals have washed up on Alaska’s Arctic coastline since July, suffering or killed by a mysterious disease marked by bleeding lesions on the hind flippers, irritated skin around the nose and eyes and patchy hair loss on the animals’ fur coats.

Seafood from Japan is not being tested for radioactivity.

Why is this ongoing threat being reported so lightly, if at all in Corporate media?

The health and well-being of millions is being threatened, while radiation detectors have been turned off.

While more money is being poured into building more nuclear reactors.

Trump likes them.

There’s a lot of information about this ongoing disaster that’s not being shared with the public.

The people need to be asking more questions about what’s going on and what is or isn’t being done about it.

Japan Nuclear Plant May Be Worse Off Than Thought

Where’s That Radioactive Sulfur Now? Possibly In Your Pants

Four Sites Where You Can Monitor U.S. Radiation Levels

Projected paths of the radioactive atmospheric plume emanating from the Fukushima reactors, best described as airborne particles or aerosols for 131I, 137Cs, and 35S, and subsequent atmospheric monitoring showed it coming in contact with the North American continent at California, with greatest exposure in central and southern California.
.
Government monitoring sites in Anaheim (southern California) recorded peak airborne concentrations of 131I at 1.9 pCi m−3
Anaheim is where Disneyland is located...

In addition, radioactive debris is starting to wash up on the Pacific Coast

And because the Japanese are burning radioactive materials instead of disposing of them,.

So – as in Japan – radiation is usually discovered by citizens and the handful of research scientists with funding to check, and not the government.

See thisthisthisthisthis and this.
The Japanese government’s entire strategy from day one has been to cover up the severity of the Fukushima accident. This has likely led to unnecessary, additional deaths.
Indeed, the core problem is that all of the world’s nuclear agencies are wholly captured by the nuclear industry … as are virtually all of the supposedly independent health agencies.

So the failure of the American, Canadian and other governments to test for and share results is making it difficult to hold an open scientific debate about what is happening.

So if your a surfer on the west coast of America you know how the water gets up into your sinus next to your brain.

You have to stop surfing the pacific coast!

If you don't you run the very real risk of thyroid cancer.

Worse than you might think, here are more pictures

A local southern CA man has a Giger counter and has measured elevated levels of radiation in the pacific ocean near Laguna Beach CA.

The radiation detectors were turned off because of the radiation coming our way.

Of course they have lied to us as to why they turned them off.

And the Environmental Protection Association raised the limit levels of radiation in response to the elevated Fukushima radiation that has come our way.

This is what we have to look forward too if these nuclear power plants are allowed.

There Is No Planet "B"

Washington May Be A Very Bad Place To Live For Living Things

And guess what?

Trump likes nuclear power plants!

A former engineer at one of GermanyĆ¢(TM)s nuclear reactors has made an astonishing claim: that the plant intentionally pumped radioactive waste into the atmosphere in 1986.

Speaking to the Westfalischer Anzeiger, 83-year-old retired engineer Hermann Schollmeyer apparently decided it was time to come clean, three decades after the incident he describes.

The official story had always been that radioactive waste was unintentionally leaked into the air at the THTR reactor in Hamm in May 1986, the western German newspaper reports.

But Schollmeyer now claims that the plant used the cover of the Chernobyl -- which had released a cloud of radioactive waste over western Europe -- to pump their own waste into the atmosphere, believing no one would notice.

"It was done intentionally," Schollmeyer said. "We had problems at the plant and I was present at a few of the meetings."

A report from NBC News:

Ninety-six aboveground, aquamarine pools around the country that hold the nuclear industry's spent reactor fuel may not be as safe as U.S. regulators and the nuclear industry have publicly asserted, a study released May 20 by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine warned.

Citing a little-noticed study by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the academies said that if an accident or an act of terrorism at a densely-filled pool caused a leak that drains the water away from the rods, a cataclysmic release of long-lasting radiation could force the extended evacuation of nearly 3.5 million people from territory larger than the state of New Jersey.

It could also cause thousands of cancer deaths from excess radiation exposure, and as much as $700 billion dollars in costs to the national economy.

The report is the second and final study of Japan's Fukushima Daiichi power plant, which was pummeled from a tsunami on March 11, 2011.

The authors suggest the U.S. examine the benefits of withdrawing the spent fuel rods from the pools and storing them instead in dry casks aboveground in an effort to avoid possible catastrophes.

The idea is nothing new, but it's been opposed by the industry because it could cost as much as $4 billion.

The latest report contradicts parts of a study by Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff released two years after the Fukushima incident.

The NRC staff in its 2014 study said a major earthquake could be expected to strike an area where spent fuel is stored in a pool once in 10 million years or less, and even then, "spent fuel pools are likely to withstand severe earthquakes without leaking."

These nuclear things were built by companies that pushed them for profit.

And now they are not being properly handled for the same reason, for profit.
Greed will always have serious repercussions in the long run.
