August 1968

We all piled  into Tony Meston's Shelby GT350
Mustang and drove up to Hollywood to go and get the advance sale of the new Cream album at Licorice Pizza.

(Actually, now that I think about it, we all were in his VW van.)

It was their third album.

We were stoked to obtain one of the last copies available that day.

It was a flashy foil printed cover.

It "strobed" when you rocked it back and forth.

This album fast became the number one album in the United States, becoming the first platinum-selling double album.

Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker.

This was Cream at their best before disbanding.

I truly loved the late 60's!
