An interesting dry area of central California shows up on the satellite this afternoon (as a high pressure zone) spanning the length of the San Joaquin valley which runs from Bakersfield to Redding.
This despite the large front moving towards the California coast and the upper level low pressure to the South. The San Joaquin valley farm land is where most of the State's food is grown.
