Exhortation To Believe
This is surely a time that God is showing His people what is in His will, what they can claim, and what they really want.
It takes a long time for you to know what you really want, to come to the place where everything within you is unified for one drive, one purpose: you know what you want, what you are going to have, what you are going to be, what you are going to do.
David said, I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13.
Sometimes all you can do is look up and say, "I know the Lord is good."
You know He is good, but you do not know whether you are afoot or on horseback.
You do not know any of the answers; you are not positive about anything.
A great handicap that even people of the Lord have right now is their limited awareness of God.
The one thing I have wanted above everything else was to be able to say like Paul, "To know Him."
You may think you do know the Lord, but do you really?
There are people who wouldn't know the Lord if He walked into the room; yet they love Him and serve Him.
Although they adore Him in their spirits, something in their minds is still far from the awareness.
I have the feeling I know who I am, I know what I want, I know what I am seeking, and I know where I am going.
Perhaps you think I always knew that.
Yes, I knew it, but there is a time when you know that you know it, when a positive certainty of things grips you and you have no doubts.
We are coming to the place where God is letting us know.
We know that now we are children of God.
What about our circumstances?
What about our problem?
It doth not yet appear - that is all we can say.
Reality does not begin in the world that we see; reality begins in the world where God says, "Let there be."
Reality begins in a world where God calls things that are not as thought they were, and that is what will give them form and substance in the heart of God - the womb of all reality - and it will come forth.
What a day this is when God has anointed people to prophesy the word of the Lord.
How will it come to pass?
Do we see into the future and prophesy it?
That is foreknowledge and sometimes you can get that with a Ouija board or a deck of cards, though I have never tried it.
God may say, "Little man, you go over there and prophesy against Nineveh, go and prophesy against Babylon, and then go and prophesy against Egypt."
And when we prophesy, everyone may laugh.
But when God speaks a word, He brings forth a thing that is the reality.
The years go by and the walls crumble until no one can even find the ruins, but the word of the Lord endures forever.
In this day God gives you the privilege, "Prophesy against Babylon. Prophesy against your wall. Prophesy against the hindering things. Prophesy against your chains.
Shake off your vipers into the fire. Be loosed, O people of the Lord."
When you prophesy it with faith and with the Spirit of God upon you, it has reality; then it will move from the realm of spirit into the realm that everyone sees.
The most real world is the realm of spirit, and when it is real to you, you feel like you have it.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen ( Hebrews 11:1 ).
You still cannot see it or feel it, but within you there is a new awareness.
You have the things that you have desired of Him.
This is the way it happens.
God sees the things that are going to come to pass in your life.
He sees what He wants you to be.
He comes to a shaking man in a cave and says, "Hail, thou mighty man of valour. I've chosen you."
He put out fleeces o be doubly sure that they could defeat the Midianites with thirty - two thousand men.
The Lord said, "It's too many."
Gideon may have felt the Lord had ruined him by leaving only ten thousand men.
The Lord said, "You haven't seen anything yet. We'll do it with only three hundred men!"
How God loves us.
Oh, how He loves us!
He has linked us with His omnipotence.
Think of it.
Hang on , and you have a hold of the greatest dynamo, the greatest creator, the only creative factor in the world - the Lord Himself.
Be loosed in the name of the Lord.
Galatians 3:3 asks, ...having begun in the Spirit, are ye now perfected in the flesh?
It is a miracle that God removed the mountain of spiritual darkness, that you know Him, that you stand before Him.
But the greatest miracle of all is what He is becoming in you.
You are not going to finish this by discipline of the flesh or human achievement; you are going to finish it the way it was started.
From the beginning to end it is a miracle of grace.
God is the author and the finisher.
