Even the world recognizes that it is important to forgive:
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
It is your choice, which side of these issues you will you be on. God does not make puppets, He makes people. People with a free moral agency who are expected to make choices. Life is choices and consequences of those choices.
