THE BREATH OF STRIFE

Five ways to breathe life into strife.

When our words become a participant with strife, we not only do the same as a strife- causer, but we take pleasure in it with them.

The strife-causer is usually not one who would claim to be a hater of God but the Bible puts stirring up strife in precisely that category.

The apostle Paul speaks of those who are, "Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity, whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them" (Romans 1:29-32).

Let us renounce and repent of every subtle hint that opens the door to slanderous, gossiping strife; even if we walk away and say nothing, but have lit the fuse with facial expressions, raising an eyebrow or any other form of language or agreement.
We absolutely will not partner with the sin of strife. "Where there is envying and strife, there is confusion and every evil work" (James 3:16).
